Fried Shrimpballs
HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR, EVERYONE!
Naturally, when I think of Chinese, I think of Chinese food! There is this Chinese Dim Sum Restaurant in town that my family & I love very much! They serve the most amazing dishes & the prices are unbeatable! The food is so good that when we go to eat there for lunch, we also order takeout for dinner! When I thought of doing this recipe, I knew it wasn’t going to be anywhere near the amazing deep fried shrimpballs they have at the restaurant, but of course I was hoping it would come close. Well, I got the strips of wonton correct, but the rest wasn’t the same. I do admit that they were still quite good, but having tasted them from the restaurant, my palate was obviously biased. The recipe tells you to grind the shrimp in a food processor. I think doing so took away to the texture of the shrimpballs. I think next time I will finely mince them. Again, these are pretty good… but I think I’m going to that restaurant for some takeout tonight! Mmmmm…
SIDE NOTE: I thank all of you once again who have commented & tweeted Happy Birthday to the blog!
